Henri Matisse and two pillows inspired by him.

Henri-Émile-Benoît Matisse is today remembered mainly as a painter, but as an artist he had a wide variety of skills, including printmaking, sculpting, and draftsmanship, the latter being notably fluid and skilled. Along with the likes of Picasso, he is known for revolutionizing a number of different fields of art, and for the sheer diversity of his portfolio. Along with André Derain he was considered one of the leaders of the Fauvist Movement, which was prominent in the art world (particularly in Paris) during the first decade of the 20th Century.

Matisse’s use of color is considered one of his defining artistic traits, and a single glance at any of his works will give ample evidence why. At Topanien Global Gifts our Matisse Pillow Collection strives to reflect that, with rich, complimentary colors, contrasts, and fluid shapes.
