According to Tibetan oral tradition, the singing bowls – also called rin gongs, among other things – originally came to Tibet from India, along with Buddhism. Let the bowl sit freely(that is do not grab the bowl with you fingers) when you place the bowl on you palm. Gently hit the rim of singing bowl and gently go around outside edge of the singing bowl with the side of the striker, keeping a little pressure on the stick while going around the bowl.
