Kashmiri artisans work together in a cottage industry, handcrafting the entire piece from the design, to the wool, to the beautiful chain-stitch embroidery, the finest in the world. Enjoy slight imperfections as this wall art is hand-made and no two pieces are exactly alike. No child labor used and the Wall Hangings or decorative area rugs are made by highly skilled artisans making a living wage.
Wall Hangings are 70% wool and 30% cotton with canvas back. Chain stitch is a refined form of hand worked crewel embroidery produced by the finest Kashmiri artisans of India. The Kashmir wool thread makes it soft to the touch, and the raised-swirl texture of the embroidery delights the senses. Approximately 30.5″ x 48.5″ though sizes, design and color vary slightly as items are hand crafted. Dry clean only.

Catalan artist Joan Miro had a surreal, free-spirited (or unrestrained) vision of art, eschewing conventional methods, and blazing his own path in brilliant color and wild shapes across the canvas. This contemporary throw pillow cover captures that same vibrant spirit in spirals of hand-stitched Kashmiri wool, done with the crewel chain stitch traditional form of Indian embroidery. Indulge yourself and be sure to check out the matching Contemporary Throw Pillows to add even more richness and color to your home.
