The Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout Mexico annually in late October or early November to coincide with the Catholic holiday of All Saints Day.  Family and friends gather to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. People enjoy this public holiday with building private alters, visiting graves and honoring the deceased with sugar skulls, flowers and favorite foods.

A common symbol of the Day of the Dead holiday is the skull and the Catrina, a beautiful female skeleton dressed in a flamboyant hat befitting the upper classes.  These images are seen over and over in Day of the Dead folk art from Mexico such as the many hand-painted ceramics from Topanien Global Gifts. These Mexican Skulls also mirror the flag of Mexico (Spanish: Bandera de México)  with their vertical tricolor of green, white, and red.

Enjoy a hand painted, ceramic Day of the Dead Mexican Flag Skull and celebrate Dia De Los Muertos with friends. The skulls are individually painted by hand and each comes with its own Day of the Dead design.  They are similar and coordinate well together but are also unique.

If giving a Mexican Day of the Dead Decorative Flag Skull to a friend, be sure to request free gift wrapping during your check out.
